Spectre is a recombinant narrative platformer. You play as Joseph Wheeler, a 73-year-old man who is revisiting his memories in an attempt to tell the story of his life. No life, however, can be told in a single story.

A team of USC students, led by Jamie Antonisse, designed and developed Spectre over the course of a year and a half. I worked with Jamie as a game designer, and specifically I designed most of the vignettes that the player encounters throughout the game. With the vignettes, we worked hard to create resonant emotional experiences through gameplay.

In 2009, Spectre was featured at the Indiecade Festival. In 2010, it was among the winners of the IGF Student Showcase at GDC. It was also shown at the 2010 Meaningful Play conference.
